Special Projects
Microchip Scanning Station
WCHS places a high priority on supporting our community and the pets within it. This Spring, we are planning to install a microchip scanning station (for public, 24-hour use) on the exterior of our facility for the purpose of reducing the number of stray pets — primarily dogs — surrendered to our shelter. The station will be easily accessible, weather and theft-proof, and user friendly.
WCHS is hoping to have the project funded by those who care most about animal welfare in Washington County. Consider supporting this project to provide another safeguard for lost pets and a helpful resource for those trying to return them home.
