Bakers Wanted!
We need baked goods for this year’s MEGA Rummage for the Animals! If you are interested in baking for the bake/bark sale at the Mega Rummage Sale,
you can drop off baked goods on the following days:
Wednesday, May 29 | 8:30am – 4pm
Thursday, May 30 | 8:30am – 4pm
When you walk in the main entrance of the Ziegler Family Expo Center, we will have a sign in sheet with baker racks for you to put your donated baked goods on. Volunteers may bring in baked goods during their shift!
The best-selling items are always bars (like brownies, fruit bars, coffee cakes, etc.), whole pies, cakes, breads (like banana or zucchini breads), rice krispies treats, and cookies. We are looking for 4-6 dozen treats per baker, or whatever you can contribute. Please note we cannot take items that need to be refrigerated.
- Please put the name of your baked goods on the container as well as an ingredient list for people who may have allergies.
- Please bring all baked goods in disposable containers or ones that you do not need to have returned.
- If you are baking something that needs to be cut, please leave it whole so our volunteers can cut it on site
Don’t feel like baking for humans? That’s ok – we also have a bark sale where we sell homemade dog and cat treats!
If you would like, you can package your treats in smaller portions or just bring in single bones or similar treats, and we will display and sell them individually. If you have an idea of what price point you think would be fair, please indicate that as well, and we will try to get as close as possible. The most frequently asked questions shoppers had were whether or not the treats needed to be refrigerated once they get home and what the ingredients were (in case of food allergies or sensitivities). Keeping these things in mind, when you bring in pet treats, please provide an ingredient list and, if possible, an idea of their shelf life/refrigeration needs so we can refer to it if needed and properly inform our shoppers. And, don’t forget treats for the kitties, too!
- Must be homemade (or made from a pet bakery)
- No rawhides please
- Shelf life of 7+ days
- Please provide ingredient list for those pets that may have allergies
